There are three dolls in this Japanese nesting doll set made of wood. There may have been four or even five dolls at one time. They came out of an estate of a huge Asian collector. They look to be very old with the condition matching the age. The largest one measures 5 1/8" in height and has the most color left on it. There is a chip on the rim of the bottom part and three cracks on the base. The middle size does not have any chips or cracks but is missing most of its color. The smallest one has the best detail on the face but has a crack through the top part. Even with these flaws I think that they are quite interesting and not that common.
