This charming folk art box was created by a woman named Mary Johnston in 1936 and is signed as such on the bottom in pencil. The sides of the box are painted black and purple in an Art Deco design. The lid of the box was done in decoupage using International stamps. The hardware is brass. It measures 6 1/4" X 3 1/2" X 2 1/2". The lid is slightly domed. Very nice condition with a few chips on the paint which is expected for a piece of this age.
