So OK, no one is going to serve caviar from Tupperware but wow!
This stunning caviar dish in the form of a bug with mother of pearl wings is sublime!
The quality of this dish speaks for itself, the mother of pearl "wings" are hinged to allow access to the caviar within. There is a cut out in the closed wings to allow a spoon to remain in the dish even when covered.
The silver plated stand part of the dish is marked Musterschutz, this mark basically means that the design is protected and helpfully it was used between 1876 and 1891 so we can be confident that this piece dates to that time.
Condition is very good for the age with no cracks chips or repairs. We have not cleaned the metal parts up as we like to let our buyers to decide how far to go with the cleaning.
Please see the photographs for clarification.
