Superb Limoges Porcelain tureen and cover. Marked G. D and Cie. Dating to the 1890's this is a truly beautiful example of Limoges porcelain.
The Rococo design incorporates a beautiful delicate floral pattern, over a body moulded with fluted shell-like designs and is finished by highly decorative handles to either end of the tureen and another to the cover.
This a very rare survivor of an era when tableware was a luxury to be appreciated in all its glory and this piece certainly doesn't disappoint.
