Stunning set of twelve old French lotto game cards. Beautifully made polychrome, comedy scenes with moveable components, to cover the numbers as they are called throughout the game of Lotto.
Originally these cards were published by MD Mauclair Ironsides in 1900 and then by the company JFJ (Toys French) in 1904.
Beautiful display pieces these cards are sure to raise a smile.
Super condition for the vintage with just a few age related defects; There is a small tear to one of the cards. This is a tear at the bottom of the strongman card "Blanc et Noir", the fault can be seen on the photographs just where it says "Hercule". There are a few small minor tears to the right hand side of "Répétition d'un grand Marceau", "Un Monsieur tres poli" has a small tear to the top of the card and "Le grande Parade" has a couple of very small tears/dog ears along the top.
Please see the photographs for clarification. All cards are present and complete.
Very rare to find this set in such lovely condition as the moveable parts are quite fragile.
Each card measures: 8 3/4 inches x 5 1/4 inches
