This is a crystal and green glass combination cigarette holder with ashtray foot manufactured during the 1930s Depression Era by the elegant Central Glass Works. It's referenced in Tim Schmidt's "Central Glass Works The Depression Era." The company closed in 1939, so this piece is at least 80 years old.
The #1422 cigarette holder is diamond optic with a floral decoration in gold. The top edge is gold decorated. The green base is cupped with a gold border. It has a wafer separator stem. It measures about 4" tall and 3-1/2" in diameter at the foot.
The glass is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Some shelf wear on the base consistent with age. One bubble in the cigarette top portion. There is some wear to the upper and lower gold borders. No wear to the main floral design. The green stem and ashtray foot fluoresce under a UV light.
Originally manufactured to hold cigarettes, but would be ideal to use on the desk for spare change, paperclips
