Original Burmese marionette with hand made raw silk clothes, hand dyed fabric and an ornate hand-beaded front/back piece - most likely from the 1920s. Made of wood and painted in polychrome with a beautifully hand painted face , with a 15" body (not with the strings stretched). The neck is carved with a separate disc to make it more movable, and his legs have two sections also for mobility. The original threads are still attached to the original wooden controller device. A fantastic piece of ethnic workmanship. Small chips of paint have come off here and there, but he is clean with no major damage.
