This exceptional early 19th Century Needle Point Bell Pull features elaborate Asian Body Artists and floral designs. Different than a lot of - more simple - Needle Point work it is composed like a painting and not a simple pattern. Each Artist is depicted in a different position. It seems like they are supposed to be circus artists.
At the backside it is covered by fine pink silk.
This extra long Bell Pull also has an amazing bronze mount - featuring incredible floral designs - with original gilt at the bottom. It is a typical example for an early 19th Century Biedermeier Bell Pull of a royal or ducal residence. At that time many European palaces got updated and modernized after the Baroque got out of fashion.
Measurements: 78 inch by 4 1/2 inch
Condition: The Needle Point is in Very Good Condition. The gilded bronze mount is in very good condition with a little wear to the gilt (just where it has been pulled in former times). The Silk in the back is only attached to the upper half and the very bottom anymore.
