This beautiful Horse Harness Trapping was made out of Brass and Leather. It dates back to the second half of the 19th Century and comes from Germany. Attached to the Leather are six Horse brasses. These Brass plaques were used for decoration, especially on a working harness. In Germany the these Part of the horse harness was called "Faulenzer" or "Prahlriemen". It was primarily a decoration, but was used for parts in case another part of the harness broke. One of the brass ornaments is in Star shape the other five are circles. at the bottom is a brass spout with decorative Fluff.
Condition: In good condition. Age related stiffness of the Leather.
