This beautiful antique German paper punch & embroidery framed art poem was hand made. It originates from southern Germany and dates back to the second half of the 19th Century. It is opulently embroidered with beautiful thread, Metallic Stumpwork, a beautiful Wax Relief Picture and real dried flowers. The flowers include Gentian or in German "Enzian" a very typical flower of the Alpine region and nowadays very hard to find. The embroidery is conducted wonderfully in detail. The Wax Relief Picture shows a Mother with her two children.
The German Poem states the following:
"Wenn du noch eine Mutter hast, danke Gott und sei zufrieden."
Translated it means: If you still have a Mother, thank the Lord and be satisfied
The needle point / embroidered art comes in it's original wood frame with gesso details and beautiful original Gilt.
The piece is in very good condition. (Please see pictures)
