Gorgeous hand made, hand painted, and mouth blown opalescent glass vase with gilt detail. This lovely piece is circa 1850s-1890s, most likely from France. The vase is embellished with hand painting in a thick impasto style depicting a scene of a young woman surrounded by gold branches and leaves. The top of the vase is decorated with a intricate metal detail in gilt and the vase is attached to a metal stand also in gilt with three wonderfully designed feet.
Circa: mid 19th century
Measurements: 9 1/4 inches tall and 7 1/2 inches wide and 10 3/4 inches at the widest part.
Condition: Very good, no damages to the glass, most of the original gilt is still in place. Please see pictures**
