This beautiful Pastel & Pencil Drawing by the famous Painter, Sculptor and Architect Franz Brantzky shows the famous Lake Baldeney in Essen Germany. It is located south of Essen, along the navigable part of the River Ruhr. At the time of its completion, its storage capacity amounted to approx. 8.3 million cubic metres. Over the years, and as a result of its function for river purification, its bed was subject to increasing sedimentation. The drawing would look beautiful when framed in a simple frame.

Franz Brantzky is best known for his sketches and drawings during his travels and even published a book about them (Reiseskizzen). He was born on January 19th 1871 in Cologne (Germany). He won several golden medals at the international art exhibits in Munich and Düsseldorf. He was also a famous architect. He designed the Eastasia Museum in Cologne, the Romefountian in Cologne, serveral Churches, the Möhne Dam and many more buildings.
Condition: Good condition with nice color and light tanning.
