This beautifu map of Italy is one of a kind. It was hand drawn by the German Artist and Architect Edmund Koerner. It is Ink and watercolor on heavy weight paper. Depicted is Italy during the times of the Roman Empire. It is very detailed and fine.
About Edmund Körner:
Edmund Georg Hermann Körner (born December 2, 1874 in Leschwitz (Kreis Görlitz); † 14 February 1940 in Essen) was a German architect and artis. He was temporarily a member of the Darmstadt artists' colony, lived and worked otherwise in Essen. After an apprenticeship in the building trade he attended the "Bauschule Sulza"; He later studied at the Technical University Dresden and the Technical University (Berlin) Charlottenburg. In addition, he was accepted as a master student at the Berlin Academy of Art. From 1909 he worked at the building department of the city of Essen, until he was appointed in 1911 to the Darmstadt artists' colony. At the same time he became honorary professor. As after the outbreak of the First World War the work of the artists' colony gradually came to a standstill, he returned in 1916 back to Essen, where he continued successfully worked as an independent architect. As a major work Korner applies his design for the synagogue in Essen.
