This beautiful Needlepoint & Embroidered IHS Decoration for a Chasuble Vestment dates back to the end of the 18th Century. Most likely from Spain it is opulently embroidered and has amazing Needlepoint Work. The Stumpwork is conducted magnificently in typical Baroque Designs. It was made for a Chasuble Vestment. It is Museum Quality and the workmanship is superb. Made out of fine silk and lined with Linen. The embroidery is conducted in wonderful three dimensional raised padded way. It displays the typical IHS, which are the first three letters of the Greek spelling of the Holy Name of Jesus.
