This stunning Travel Chest is a very rare find. It is covered in thick carved Rosewood Veneer and Bronze / Brass Fittings. It has two locks and a secret compartment. While the Rose Veneer and the Main Lock were made in the 17th Century, the Bronze / Metal fittings and the inside are typical for the early 19th Century. It appears that the chest was refurbished during that time out of a 17th Century Piece. It has a compartment for letter and Papers in the Lid. The right compartment in the box has a second lock with which you can lock it and also the third compartment next to it. This third Compartment is divided and also detachable - underneath it is a secret compartment. Another amazing feature are two integrated screws in the side wall of the box which can be screwed into the surface it is standing on, so that nobody can steal it.
The Travel Chest comes most likely from France or Germany and is a very rare one of a kind find with a lot of history. It comes with a working key for each lock
Size: circa 17 by 11 by 6 1/2 Inches
