This amazing 17th Century depicts the biblical scene "The Burnt Offering" as described in Leviticus 1:1-17. It shows a beautifully painted Person kneeling in front of a burning Altar with a sheep. The burnt offering does not originate in Leviticus, but is found early in the Book of Genesis. In Leviticus all the rules about it are described.
It has no indication of an author or printmaker. The style, paper and technique used indicates it was made in the last quarter of the 17th Century. It was beautifully matted.
