This fine pair of 19th century French opera glasses or field binoculars is still protected by the original leather case. The binoculars are made of solid Brass and have leather covered barrels. The inner wheel is for focusing and appears to be made out of bakelite. The original leather case has red silk lining.
Condition: The lenses are clear and clean and free of cracks or chips. The Binoculars are in fine working order and ready to use or display. The leather-clad barrels are in very fine condition for age, too, and are not split nor loose. Some general age consistent wear to the leather and silk without bigger damage. The case appears to have had a brass button to open it - this button is missing, but by simply pressing the spot it used to be the case opens easily. Please see pictures.
Size: circa 4 1/2 by 2 1/2 Inch
