This amazing Art Nouveau Ceremonial Plate is a rare find. It was made out of Silver plated Britannia metal and hand painted Pottery. It features stunning floral Art Nouveau designs, on both the Silver plated metal and the Ceramic. The decor on the metal was made in a remarkable relief. The material used is Britannia metal (also called britannium or Britannia ware). It is a pewter-type alloy favoured for its silvery appearance and smooth surface. The composition is approximately and typically 92% tin, 6% antimony, and 2% copper. The Britannia was Silver plated.
Condition: The Pomp Plate is in very good condition. The Silver Plate shows some minor wear and oxidation. We polished this beautiful piece just a little bit to leave some of the original Patina. (PLEASE SEE PICTURES)
Measurements: It is 17 Inches in diameter and 1 1/2 Inches in height
