This rare and magnificent antique delft tile from the Netherlands is a true gem. It was made around 1630 and once was mounted as a fireplace decoration, or on a kitchen wall.

The Angel and the corner Motif was hand painted in a dark blue. The tile was made from clay, tin glazed and hand painted in the city of Delft. This theme and the very rare dark blue (rather than the typical light delft blue) is very typical for the early 17th Century.

Theme: Angel

Motive: double spider corner motif

Measurements 5” by 5"

Condition: The tile is in fair condition. Some crazing and chips. (Please see pictures)
