This amazing engraving was made in the 19th Century. The nautical Print show 5 different war ships. Included are ships from France, England and Russia. The HMS Devastation was the first of two Devastation-class mastless turret ships built for the British Royal Navy. The Hercules was a central-battery ironclad of the Royal Navy in the Victorian era. The Inflexible was a british Invincible-class battlecruiser and the Océan was a wooden-hulled, armored frigate of the French Navy. The most uncommon ship shown is the Popov from Russia. It was a monitor built for the Imperial Russian Navy in the 1870s. It was one of the most unusual warships ever constructed, and still survives in popular naval myth as one of the worst warships ever built. The hull was circular to reduce draught while allowing the ship to carry much more armour and a heavier armament than other ships of the same size. The steel engravings of the war ships is very detailed and have a German description.
