This magnificent German Pewter Tobacco Bottle dates back to the year 1867. It is beautifully engraved with the initials KB and the year in a lovely scroll. It was made out of pewter and has a makers mark and the 95% Mark twice (this mark indicates that the pewter has at least 95% tin and can be used to store food). It has a lovely shine and patina to it.
The hand wrought engraving is simple but very beautiful. This kind of tobacco bottle was made for transporting and using Snuff Tobacco. If you are a collector of fine tobacciana this wonderful piece is just right for you. The Lid still works perfectly and closes tightly.
Condition: Beautiful Shine and Patina with just a little bit of wear - age consistent from being handled for 150 years. It closes tightly. Overall very good antique condition. PLEASE SEE PICTURES
The measurements are approx 3" wide, 1" deep and 4 1/2" high
