This extraordinary German Pewter Guild Beaker or in German "Zunftpokal" is a rare find. Dated to the year 1795 it is a witness of the old guild crafts of Germany. Every single guild had a Beaker like this one and the name of each master of the guild was engraved in it. There was also a medal added for each guild master. This Beaker has 8 medals attached and states the name of St. Sebastian on the Lid. Most likely it was posession of a mason, tanner or a potter guild, since St. Sebastian is the patron saint of those professions. The Lid is decorated with a knight in armor.
Inscription: Lid: "S.SEBASTIAAN" Cup: "CARL ULLMAN - ANDRES HERMAN - CKRISTOF ULLMAN - 1795 - WILHELM KREBS"
Condition: It is in good antique condition and has a beautiful patina. One of the attached medals appears to be replaced and some point. (please see pictures)
