This gorgeous sterling silver (.950) and engraved glass muffineer, sugar caster or salt shaker was made by J. Gruhier between the 1897 and 1914. The Silver part of it is decorated with a lovely hand made repousse pattern featuring many different types of flowers and leaves. The pierced topper is intricately designed. The fantastic cut and engraved glass body of it features thistle designs with Gilt Applications and a frosted background. The glass was completely carved out by hand in the style of Legras , Galle or Daum Nancy. Most likely one of these specialized glass producers from Nancy designed the body of this amazing piece.
