This magnificent set of two antique tiles from the Netherlands is a true gem. They were made around 1780 and were once mounted as a fireplace decoration, or on a kitchen wall. The tiles were made from clay, tin glazed and hand painted in the city of Delft. One tile shows a hand painted scene with a Well and two sail boats in a double circular reserve, the second one shows a house with a boat in the background in a double circular reserve.

Motive: Spider corner motif

Measurements: Each is tile is circa 5” by 5 "
