This amazing one of a kind Document was handwritten in Amsterdam. It is dated to the 13th September 1764 and was drafted by Marten Adriaan Beels and Fredrick Alewijn at that time alderman or councilmen of Amsterdam and later on both mayor of the Dutch City. It has a seal of the year 1764 which says "Segel Clein". It appears to be written by an advocate or notary (very common for documents this old) since the name of the Signature doesn't match their two names.

Naturally it is written in Dutch and we weren't able to decipher the whole content.

Fredrick Alewijn and Marten Adriaan Beels were both members of patrician families of Amsterdam. They played an important rule in the Batavian Revolution on the side of the Orangists. This was an important Revolution and somewhat a spark for the big French Revolution later on. Fredrick Alewijn was also the President of the Dutch East India Company from 1772 on.

This document is a true gem for any historian. It is a witness of the time period that led first the Netherlands and lateron all of Europe into Revolutions and later on to Democracy.

Condition: Very good condition with slight staining and readable (just a little bleached out) writing

Measurements: 13 1/2" X 17"
