This amazing Copper Engraving is a rare find which was published in 1717. It is a true piece of history since it shows inhabitants of the Arctic, Iceland & Estotiland at the end of the 17th Century. Pierre-Paul Sevin drew the original after which Mathieu Ogier engraved the copper plate. The depicted people are very interesting in an Ethnographic & Anthropological aspect. It also states that there is 6 months of daylight and 6 months of night. The engraving comes from "Nouvele Metode pour aprendre la Geographie Universele" by Antoine Phérotée de La Croix.
Please ask us for other prints. We have many more originals and simply can`t list them all here.
