We have here a very nice example of American Art Deco pottery by the Cowan Pottery Studio circa 1925. The lamp base body features an almost abstract raised design of stylized trees with branches containing buds, leaves and possibly apples. The glaze palette is soft and settling. The upper cap, which is attached to the body, has a circular design of outward pointing leaves. For stability, the lamp bottom is heavy cast iron and has a raised motif which compliments the overall design of the lamp body and cap. Eight circular feet raise the bottom off the ground and the upper hardware and finial look original. I have rewired the lamp, so all thats needed is a shade. The markings were photographed when rewiring was in process. A nice addition to your collection or Art Deco interior.
Size : 12 3/4" (32.38 cm) Tall (To top of lamp cap) // 26 1/4" (66.67 cm) Tall (To finial) // 8" (20.32 cm) Cast Iron Base Diameter
Condition : About a 1" line from cap center hole outward (Photo 6). Otherwise excellent and ready to use. This is a factory base and not a vase which has been modified.
