This attractive little Battersea/Bilston enamel on copper snuff/patch box is circa 1780 - 1810. The lid features a motto which reads, 'A Token Of Esteem' (The 's' in 'Esteem' is written in old English dialect which is written like an f). The bottom of the box is cobalt and has a ribbed texture. Bardith Ltd. of NYC sticker underside for provenance. The box has a good hinge and closes tightly, and also retains it's original mirror inside lid. Enjoy !
Condition : An area of craze lines and a small amount of enamel loss backside below hinge (See backside photo). Overall excellent.
