Here we have a mid-20th c. whimsical bowl by the Swedish glass factory Kosta. The bowl is a light prussian blue, very thick-walled (~ 1/2") and heavy (over 5 lbs). Etched into both the inside and outside of the bowl are simplified fish with a very large eye.
Looking from the outside, the inner fish point up, while the outer fish point down, creating an interesting, almost 3-dimensional illusion due to the thickness of the glass. Research tells me the vase was designed by Hans Owe Sandeberg, mid-20th c. Engraved 'Kosta 06046' on the underside. Enjoy !
Size : 4 1/8 " ( 10.48 cm) Tall // 6 1/2 " (16.51 cm) Upper Diameter // 4 3/4" (12.07 cm) Base Diameter.
Condition : Some light scratching to upper rim and base which contacts surface. Some very small inclusions and/or trapped air bubbles. Very small nick to outer upper rim. I have tried to picture what I could.
