I am happy to offer the many cat lovers out there an interesting Continental porcelain cat lamp made circa 1920 - 1940.
Although the cat stands with an arched back and tail up as if in a protective mode, it's facial expression casts more of a gentle, playful grimace. Green glass eyes and hand painted eyelashes and whiskers further enhance it's expression.
Although many countries used the crowned Naples mark, I would say the cat was made in either France or Germany.
The hardware inside features two candleabra-sized sockets, with one pointing towards the head and the other towards the tail. My last photo was taken using what I felt was too strong a wattage pointing back (40w) , although it did cast a nice glow. I am selling it with two smaller sized bulbs so as not to overheat the porcelain. NOTE : Changing the bulbs is a challenge !!! I have smallish hands and am used to working in tight places, but I don't think the average person could do it without the help of a lamp shop professional. Enjoy !!!
Condition: No issues at all.
Size : 15 1/2" (38.74 cm) To Tip of Tail // 11" (27.94 cm) Long // 3 1/2" (8.89 cm) Wide
