I am proud to offer you a late 19th c. KPM porcelain 5 piece desk ensemble. Each piece is set within a framework of beautifully cast gilt bronze, which retains it's original gilding and is warmly patinated after over 100 years of age. The bronze motifs within the bronze include cherub heads, dolphins, a bird atop the inkwell and intricate leafy curls and scrolls. The porcelain features beautifully hand painted flowers and butterflies, surrounded by raised areas of leafy curls which are further accented by gilding. The candlesticks and inkwell are marked in underglaze blue with the KPM septre, along with the letters S,g,r, and P. Other various letters and numbers on the pieces probably indicate assorted model, designer, decorator, gilder and/or dating codes. This particular underglaze blue mark was used from 1882 onward. This beautiful set would be a fine addition to any collector's cabinet or showcase, or else to be left out to embellish a table-top or period desk. Enjoy !!!
