Here we have an excellent quality Meissen girl gathering flowers in a shawl or blanket. She wears aristocratic attire with fancy lace in her dress and around her neck. The modeling and painted decorations are finely detailed and very crisp. I would date the figure circa 1900. Please see my condition report for further information.
Condition : This figure sat atop a two or three-tiered Meissen cake stand. As a result there is a rectangular shaped void underside which would have been plastered to the uppermost plate of the cake stand. Unfortunately, the blue crossed swords have been lost in this process. Purchased with the void filled most likely for aesthetic purposes. Some of the laced points in her dress are missing. There are two chipped leaves in her array of flowers. Please see photos as I have tried to expose all of these issues.
Size : 4 3/4" (12.06 cm) Tall // 1 5/8" (4.13 cm) Base Diameter
