With the Schumann Bavaria red crown mark that dates this intricate and delicate porcelain as from the 1940's or 50's, research by experts indicates it may be older. Finely reticulated Dresden in the Chateau pattern was made by Schumann much earlier. Note the lettering style of "Germany" is in a different font and the ink color and font of "Chateau" is different, indicating these marks were likely added to pre-war inventory of the 30's. But... no matter the date, there is no dispute over the desirability of this fine Bavarian porcelain. Lattice trellis rims the dish like lace and the minutely painted flowers are detailed to perfection. The array of colorful buds, blooms, vines, petals and leaves are a standout against pure whiteness. The flow of gold gilt is in wonderful condition.
