This loud tap bell with its iron clapper was probably used in a hotel lobby; it’s loud ring would be best to grab the attendant’s attention. The base is footed and ribbed, measuring 4 inches across. The feet show the familiar brass color. The dome of the silver-tone bell wears a great patina bearing witness to the true age. The clapper is iron as demonstrated by it’s magnetic attraction and surface rust. This heavy clapper is what causes the loud sound. The bell is 3.5 inches tall at the apex of the tap. Original finish - not cleaned, not polished
