More from Why? Why Not
Here are four young Valentine Couples framed by hearts. Published by the Wolf Publishing Company, these sweethearts are "sweet." The first couple are in colonial garb in front of a red heart featuring a cupid breaking through. It has a canceled one cent stamp and message on the divided back. The second couple have black hats and a green umbrella. They seem to be seated inside their red heart. This card was never posted and has light writing in pencil. The third card features a couple standing within a heart of red ribbon and flowers. The divided back has writing in ink. The fourth card has some staining on the front. It, too, features a couple standing within a heart formed of red ribbon and flowers. The divided back has light pencil writing. All cards have soft corners. Numbers three and four are darkened with creased corners and appear to have been in a scrapbook at one time.
