You will not find a richer combination of colors in a fabric than those in this 58 x 56 inch shawl. The background is a dark, almost forest, green. This color makes the other colors pop. Red roses, peonies, and poppies are mingled with blue corn flowers and dahlias. All have centers of gold, orange and green. The leaves are a brighter green with yellow center veins. There is an outer circular medallion featuring paisley designs and asiatic arches with more flowers of the same colors. The inner circular medallion is defined by horseshoe shapes / arches. The gold ends point toward the center. This medallion has heart shapes in blues sitting astride the arches. The medallion is 13 3/4 inches in diameter with the dark green in the center. Those rich, vibrant reds, pinks, golds, and blues with a touch of white are throughout. The woven fabric is hemmed all the way around. I am unsure of the fabric, but it is not soft enough to be rayon. Thread has been drawn through, then a macrame weaving technique was used to form the fringe. The fringe width is 10 inches. Use it as a personal shawl, a table covering, or as a piano shawl; regardless, it is a good find.
