These porcelain fruit and nut plates were precious to my mother when my aunt purchased them for her while vacationing in the 1960s in Ontario, Canada. They are 7.5 inches in diameter. Each has a decorative pattern of strokes in the porcelain around the circumference highlighted by a gold edged rim. The centers have high quality decals created by a talented artist featuring leaves, fruits, and nuts. The grape plate features green grapes, well highlighted by the original artist; walnuts, both whole and halved; and maple tree leaves fully veined and in fall coloration. The pear plate shows the fruit in various stages of ripening surrounded by hazel nuts and their foliage. These plates survived the childhood of three children in fantastic condition. There is no wear (we didn't get to use them) and no damage. The ink stamp markings on the bottom are for Winterling Roslau Bavaria Germany.
