Rick Wisecarver of Roseville, Ohio greatly admired the old Weller pottery. This piece is an homage to Weller Dickensware. The clean, clear scene is of a young man / teen boy simply dressed in an open-necked white shirt and blue pants with rolled up legs. The boy is blonde and seems to be enjoying the day with a laid back attitude, his thumbs in his belt. The trees behind him are done coloring book style; all green. The water is evidenced by swirls around his legs. Rick Wisecarver's name is deeply incised to the right of the image. The vase is overall matte with peach and green underglaze. The bottom markings show this was a special piece made for Rick's grandmother. Markings: "Wihoa's She Zane Grandma Nellie 11/7/83." The base is in excellent shape with only the tiniest of flakes on the rim. This can hardly be considered a 'flea bite.' Please don't let this detract from your interest. Measurements are: 8 inches tall, 3 inch base, 2 3/4 inch base.
