In another Clapsaddle Valentine, a boy was reading Cupid's News. Here, we have an industrious young man selling Love News. "News of the Heart, only published Feb. 14th. St. Valentine's Greeting." Our news boy is dressed for cool weather. His red scarf is windswept as is his brown hair and the newspaper he holds aloft. A sheaf of papers is held under his arm waiting to be purchased. High top brown shoes and red stockings ground his working outfit of patched brown knee breeches topped with blue jacket with patched elbow and blue messenger's cap with badge. A stamp by his knee says: Painting Only Copyrighted by the International Arts Publishing Co. 1910. A very faint signature of Ellen H. Clapsaddle is under his feet. I have attempted to photograph it. The divided back has both written message and address, however, it was never posted. The upper left corner bears the distinctive logo of the IAPC with spread wing eagle on globe with palette and brushes. New York Berlin Printed in Germany. Series 607.
