These two cutie pies could not be more adorable - just what you would expect from the work of Ellen Clapsaddle. It is unsigned, but was purchased as Clapsaddle. The little girl is holding her horde of Valentines. There are so many she can't hold them all. Her chubby cheeks and blue eyes are framed by curls spilling out from her bonnet. Her buddy, or maybe her twin brother is just as cute. The lower left corner says Wolf & Co. NY. The lower right says Made in USA. The divided back: For Correspondence / For Address Only. It also bears the trademark of the Wolf Co.: a wolf in front of a globe and a W in a box. The number beside it is 452-25. A child has written on the card in pencil on the back. The front message: "To My Valentine You Stole My Heart. Love's law is plain, That bids you part, with one again." There is a tiny stray mark on the mark. The bottom is a bit rough. Corners soft. Still very collectible.
