When did you first see the Falls? How much has it changed in your lifetime? What did you bring away from it ? Here are some momentos from the Falls throughout the years. First is a lovely handled dish made in Germany. It is trimmed in gold and a deep navy blue. The center features a color photograph decal of the Falls from the American side. It is called "A General View of Niagra Falls." It shows a steam ship full of tourists at the base. A delicate handle forms a graceful arch over the Falls. Gold flowers surround the photo. Made in Germany is stamped in gold on the bottom. It is 6 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. Second is a 1901 Detroit Photographic Co. #5520 postcard showing the Maid of the Mist view of the Falls. It is written on and is postmarked 1903. The stamp is missing. Third is a German printed Franz Huld postcard published in New York. In this view, the water of the Falls is sparkling in the sunlight due to actual crystals applied to the card. It has been written on and dated 1902 by the author. Fourth is a Souvenir from Niagra Falls postcard folder. It is copyrighted 1911 by the W. H. Brandel company of Buffalo, N.Y. The inside cover has a printed geologic history of the Falls. The star of this folder is an 8 panel panoramic artistic view showing the Falls from New York to Canada. There are no postmarks and no writing. Lastly, is another postcard folder entitled Souvenir from Niagra Falls.
