How cool is this pink & black serving set! This 5 pieces set is from the 1956 McCoy Kitchenware Line and is documented on page 238, pictured on page 239 of McCoy Pottery Collector's Reference & Value Guide by Hanson/Nissen/Hanson. Nelson McCoy, himself, was in attendance at the auction when I purchased this set in Oct. 2015. The large pot/pitcher is marked McCoy USA as is the sugar bowl. Coming from the pottery community, I believe these pieces were dipped into the glaze because they have minor bubbles in the finished product. Either this was acceptable, or they were seconds at the time. The six-cup beverage server is 9 inches deep, is 6.5 inches wide, and has a black interior, and a pink lid. The lid has a rough spot at the tip which is under the glaze, not a chip. The pink is both inside & outside the lid. The foot is 4 inches in diameter. The double-handled sugar bowl is 6.5 inches handle to handle, 3 inches tall with a 3 inch wide mouth and is black inside & out. The foot is 3 inches in dianeter. The sugar also has a lid pink inside & out. The black creamer has a graceful shape with an ample pouring spout with pink interior. It is 6.5 inches from handle to spout, 35 inches tall with a 3 inch diameter foot. You will be the cool host/hostess when serving from this period piece.
