This Fulper vase stands 6.25" high by 4.5" across by 3.5" in diameter. It has a classic pedestaled form, with Lions' Heads on the sides, like faux handles. This vase is glazed in a rich blue over peachskin glaze, with a random, flowing drip glaze effect. It is marked on the base, and according to new research by John Kornacki, whose article was just published in the Journal of the American Art Pottery Association, this vase dates to 1929-1934. This enlightening article about Fulper's marking system is a primer for collectors and dealers alike. Visit www.aapa.info for information about joining the AAPA. This handsome Lions' Head vase is in factory mint condition, with the usual glaze nuances, common to Fulper pots. This vessel makes a very classic presentation!
