This very hard-to-find Villeroy & Boch pilsner goblet stands a tall 11" high by 3.25" in diameter. It has a classic form, with a PUG or 'painting under glaze' decoration. It is a 1/2 liter goblet, likely designed by Heinrich Schlitt. This pilsner is shape #2775 (1032), which depicts a playful scene of 'Gnomes Drinking'. This pilsner has a smooth surface and the scene is handsomely presented in a rainbow of colors and finished to a nice combination of semi-matte and glossy glazes. There are several gnomes frolicking around the goblet, under a crescent 'Man in the Moon', and a bumble bee hovering above. It has all the hallmarks of Villeroy & Boch/Mettlach steins as can be seen in the photos, with a date of '07', for 1907. This unusual pilsner is in near factory mint condition, with just an old surface chip on the base edge, which we show in the photos, which is not obvious when standing because it is located just as the edge rolls under. This gently used goblet, with a classically great themed-decoration, presents very handsomely!
