This Weller Hudson lamp stands 30" high from the metal base to the finial. The pottery portion measures a monumental 15.5" high by 7" in diameter. It has a classical form, fitted with a metal base and rim plate. This lamp was likely a vase form in its early life, but conversions to lamps in the 1920s and 1930s was a common practice. This beauty was decorated by one of Weller's best female artisans, Miss Sarah Reid McLaughlin. She decorated it with stunning Iris blossoms and buds, with beautifully defined leaves, which are superbly executed, and gorgeous in their presentation! This vessel is glazed in Weller's signature Hudson colors of rich lavender/blue, and lush colors in the decoration, simply stunning! This lamp may be marked on the base, but we did not take it apart. It is signed by McLaughlin on the lower exterior edge. It is in excellent condition, with some factory crazing, and two factory clay tags on the left side of the artwork, as shown in the photos. They are to the side, so they do not show from the frontside of the lamp. This Hudson lamp makes an absolutely beautiful presentation!
