Kitagawa Utamaro (1750-1806) 'Folding Fan Seller' From Series: Female Geisha Section of the Yoshiwara Niwaka Festival
This is a wonderful Utamaro print of three beauties in this lovely design. The women, in informal summer clothing worn at the time of the Niwaka Festival each holding a fan. Beautiful soft color against a lovely softly shimmering silvered mica background - very nice. An excellent woodblock print for display or collecting. This print is in excellent condition, no apologies. It bears the artist cipher, along with the original publisher's seal. This original woodblock print was produced c1950 and measures 12" high by 8 7/8" wide, including margins.
