This Fulper vase stands 8" high by 8" in diameter, a hefty large pot. It has a bulbous form with thick strap handles at the shoulders. It is glazed in a green ground glaze with a frothy seafoam aqua blue flowing over glaze, which has lots of character, and is finished to a semi-glossy sheen. A paper label on the base notes that this vase is glazed in Sycamore Green/White Flambe glaze. This vessel is marked on the base, and according to new research by John Kornacki, whose article was just published in the Journal of the American Art Pottery Association, this vase dates to 1917-1923. This enlightening article about Fulper's marking system is a primer for collectors and dealers alike. Visit www.aapa.info for information about joining the AAPA. It is in factory mint condition, with the usual glaze nuances common to Fulper pots. It makes a very handsome Arts & Crafts presentation.
