This Vance Avon Rhead Faience vase stands 6.25" high by 4" in diameter. It has a simple bulb form. Avon Faience and Vance Faience merged in the early 1900s. Frederick Hurten Rhead came to the US in 1902, and soon joined W.P. Jervis at Vance Avon Faience. This vase is signature Rhead in its design. It clearly reflects Rhead's slip/tube-lining style, influenced by his experiences at the Foley Potteries in England. This vase is glazed in a rich blue/green ground, with slip-decorated Daisies, flowing loosely around the entire vessel. It is marked Vance F. Co., and guaranteed to be Vance Avon Faience. This vase is in excellent condition, with a couple of tiny nicks at the rim, and a couple of no harm glaze rubs on the body surface, which can be seen in the photos. If you collect Vance or Vance-Avon, particularly those with a Rhead influence, this beauty will steal your heart!
