This very pretty, sparkling diamond ring is from the mid-20th century, possibly as late as the 1970s. It is 14K yellow gold, so marked on the inside of the size 7.25 band. The mounting is a complex array of prong-set diamonds that clearly resemble a bright star or a five-petal flower. The diamonds are set on three levels, with the tallest (center) diamond being 7 mm high. The top tier, single diamond is round, 3mm wide, with a brilliant cut. The center tier has five round, 2 mm wide brilliant-cut diamonds. The lowest tier has five tapered baguettes, each 3 mm long. The diamond weight is approximately .50+ carats. There is a tiny impressed maker's mark on the inside of the band, which looks like the letter "A" within a circle. The maker was not identified. This ring is in excellent condition. There are no dents, warps, chips, cracks, engravings, or other problems. This item weighs 2.6 grams.
