This eye-catching fashion statement necklace is 22 inches long from one end of the gold-tone hook and eye clasp to the other end. It is designed to be worn asymmetrically, with the carved head (of horn) of a jaguar interrupting the symmetry mid-level on one side. The beads, of varying sizes and shapes, are all natural agate stones, with a few gold-tone metal rectangular beads interspersed. The stones include moss agate, carnelian, and bloodstone, and several others that we could not identify. The colors are beautiful with multiple shades of green, blue, red, brown, and orange. The largest round stone bead is 20 mm wide, while the longest oblong stone bead is 25 mm. The jaguar is carved from natural horn and has eyes inlaid with bone. There are no signatures or markings to be found on this item. The condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, breaks, or losses. We estimate that this item was manufactured in the mid to late 20th century.
